Researches are invited to submit Kinesiology resources, based on the following guidelines, that fall within the public domain and/or free of copyright restrictions. The submitted material will be reproduced, adapted, and distributed in various tangible mediums, either print, recorded format (video, audio), or electronic format, for classroom use by physical educators.
Submission Content List
- Ideas—The Tangible expression of ideas communicated within PE units may include posts, blogs, social media platforms such as X (formerly known as Twitter) and Facebook, interviews, or podcasts.
- Common Facts – Facts may be incorporated within slide-shows, classroom activities (i.e., debates), surveys, or questionnaires.
- Hypothesis – Designing classroom activities where students engage in further investigation surrounding a proposed explanation.
- Theories – Preparing and familiarizing students with theories that relate to areas of research within the Kinesiology field (i.e., Motor Learning Theory).
- Discoveries, Processes, Systems – Information gathered through structured, semi-structured interviews.
- Videos—YouTube videos that are available for public use or audiovisual materials composed of educational digital materials created by the researcher.
- Individual research websites – Websites that relate to specific Kinesiology content that is publicly accessible (https://self-compassion.org)
- Plos Journal Articles - Short for Free Availability and Unrestricted Use.
- Open Access Research Repositories – Research will be drawn from Open Access websites (i.e. https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/journal-of-sport-and-health-scien…) for the purpose of curriculum-strengthening regarding PE topics and unit specifications.
The donated materials will be properly cited, referenced, and acknowledged according to APA style when submitting research resources.
Content Policy
The following types of content will be excluded from KOREN. Examples include:
- Datasets.
- Special materials: Materials created as part of a taught course (i.e., undergraduate work).
- Items that are individually tagged with: their version type and date, peer-reviewed status, their publication status.
- Copyrighted publications, and other copyrighted literary and textual works (covers electronic and paper formats). Examples include such works as journal published articles, books, text books, periodicals, reports, published resource papers, manuscripts.
- Licensed material publications.
- Materials that conflict with the intellectual property licensed to the universities as set below:
- University-affiliated social media accounts (i.e., Youtube channel).
- University-affiliated internet/intranet (i.e., University news publications).
- University marketing and promotional materials.
Intellectual Property Protection and Developer Confidentiality Agreement
During the process of collecting data for the KOREN website, any information discussed either verbally or in writing will remain confidential between the researcher and KOREN. Confidentiality between the researcher and KOREN will remain in place regarding information that is marked or described as confidential. Unless otherwise agreed, intellectual information will not be disclosed to other parties outside of KOREN, so as to protect the researcher’s ideas or new knowledge concerning research projects.
Any discussion regarding improvements or modifications that would strengthen design and development (i.e. introducing secondary school physical education curriculums and supporting partnerships) must remain confidential until further notice. With respect to the customized website design of KOREN, (features, specifications, technical design) along with documents KOREN Submission and Content Policy, marketing plans, development, and design ideas shall belong to parties involved in KOREN and be kept confidential.
All parties accessing KOREN must respect the Intellectual Property Rights of others in order to prevent infringement. All parties must not transfer or disclose information that may result in the imitation of suggestions, recommendations, and intentions to competing academic research companies or organizations that could benefit from a re-conceptualization of these creative and intellectual ideas as the project's field of interest grows.
